Check your batteries. Clean your contacts with a pencil eraser to ensure good connection. Try charging the batteries alone in the charger. This will assure you the problem is not within the radio. (Also, if charging on the radio be certain the radio is turned off.) You may have old or bad batteries if they will not charge on either charger.

How do I down load users manual

I am surprised by how hard this is to find. My old links are gone, Motorola Solutions did not bother to carry the links over. So, the manual is very similar to the P1225 and the M1225 (mobile), the LS adds the Trunking features. Nothing is user programmable. The buttons on the front must be programmed by the dealer to do anything, but were usually a direct channel and resume (back to trunked operation). To make any changes, you need the Motorola software, cable and RIB (radio interface box). Parts are still available. They were rugged, good radios we sold hundreds of.

Why does my motorola cp200 speaker mic plug have intermittent connection?

The internal jack on the radio has a bad solder connection on it, very common problem in that model. Take it to a Motorola shop for repair.

Red light flashing on charger

A red light indicates the charger is charging the battery, an amber light means it has switched from fast rate charging to trickle to keep the battery topped off, and green would mean the battery is completely charged. But don't be fooled waiting for green, many times the charger will only be on green for a moment before changing to amber and keeping the battery topped off.

Flashing can be a sign of a problem on some chargers.

A rapid flashing red can on some chargers indicate a bad or shorted battery, or a bad battery contact in the charger itself. If in question, try a different battery on the charger or compare with another charger to determine if the blinking is normal.

Best regards.

Usage range of motorola p1225ls

When using on a conventional channel radio-to-radio without the aid of a trunking system, your range should be up to 2 miles line-of-sight. Talking in and out of a building would reduce range to 1/4 to 1/2 mi. (This is with the user holding the radio upright (not tilted))

When or if using the P1225LS in conjunction with a trunking system you would have the range provided by the system, when you are within the footprint of their towers. Speak with your service provider to find out the expected range.

Best regards.
