Toro electric start won't start manually

Basically a brand new Toro Recycler model 20041 but no charger or key.  Mower won't start manually either.  Also, can the ignition be changed to a push button type so I don't lose another key?

If it doesnt start manually, you have another issue to deal with. Whether it has electric start or not you should be able to manually pull start it. You can also get the model and serial number off the engine and contact your nearest toro dealer to have charger and key ordered. As far as a push button,it can be done, just a matter of finding someone to install one for you.

My mower has a key and battery but what for?

What brand of mower? Most lawn mowers with electric start will have a separate charger that you can plug into a standard wall outlet to charge the battery. There aren't many that charge the battery off the mower itself except for some Toro models.

Toro recycler mower won't stay running

take apart the carb float and clean it out, then take apart the rest of the carb and spray cleaner through it. sounds like you might have some old gas turned to jelly in your carb thats plugging it too much for the typical pressures inside the carb to **** through

Toro Model 20041 sputters and stalls out; If I cover the primer bulb the engine will rev up and run. Also the mower won't start unless I clean the spark plug. What do I need to do?

Most likely you'll have to remove the bowl nut, under the carb's bowl. You'll most likely find varnish in the jet, or maybe water. These are some typical jets, Tecumseh. Briggs, similar (baymee Lehigh Valley PA, 2009).

How do you replace the belt

this is not easy you have to turn the mower on its side <make sure the carb is down > take off the blade belt guide and look at it the space is really tight and you have to hold the trans with two fingers and then walk the belt on. its hard because the trans is spring loaded to twist backwards to keep the belt tight

To adjust the self propel cable, loosen the cable
clamp, pull the cable downward to remove all the slack
then push the cable jacket up 1/8”
