Try these codes. If you wish to get more details; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Common set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the "device's brand name list" in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts.

How do I turn on the closed captioning on my Toshiba SD 5000 DVD player

What happens when you press the "Subtitle" button on the DVD remote control several times after you insert a subtitle-enabled DVD?
If you don't have the manual handy for your DVD player, I've added a link for the Toshiba SD-5000KU. The Subtitle button is described on page 13, but the description only tells how to turn subtitles on. However if the programming is typical, pressing the button repeatedly cycles through a series of language options with "Off" at the beginning or end of the list. Otherwise, it may be programmed to enter a subtitle menu that you navigate with the direction arrows (page 14).

I just bought a new remote and cannot find the user guide for the TV. Do you need to program the remote for it to work?

Hello
You have to programme it. do the following:
[1] Make sure there are working batteries in the Toshiba remote control.
[2] Turn on your television set, DVD player or other device that you want to control with the Toshiba remote

[3] Find the "Recall" or "Setup" button on the Toshiba remote control. After you find it, press and hold down that button until the lights on the remote control turn on and remain lit.

[4] Point the Toshiba remote at the device you turned on in Step 2 and press the button on the remote for that device.

[5] Begin pressing the "Power" button on the Toshiba remote. Continue doing this until you have turned the device off using the Toshiba remote. Once it shuts off, press "Enter" on the Toshiba remote. The remote will then be programmed.

OK.

I lost the remote control to my Toshiba TV/DVD player: model no. mD13p1. When I put in a DVD, I do not know how to select anything other than "play". I can't watch a movie with subtitles for...

Unfortunately, the buttons on the TV only control basic operations of the DVD player. You'll need a replacement or universal remote that matches the features of the original DC-FN20S remote. Amazon has a Redi-remote that matches the original here: https://www.amazon.com/TOSHIBA-Replacement-Control-MD14FP1-DCFN20S/dp/B009H5Q5NU .

I wish that I had better news for you.

Hi I have a Toshiba CT-90326 Television. How do I disable the Audio Description on it? Thank you

Hello Clare,

CT-90326 is actually the model number of the remote control rather than the TV. It doesn't really matter as the correct button on the remote is more relevant than the actual TV.

The Audio description is a feature of the closed-caption/subtitle settings on your TV. You should be able to switch off the audio description by pressing the "SUBTITLE" button on the top row of the remote control. Each time you press this button it will cycle between ON and OFF.

If this doesn't work, it's probably because you are using a cable/satellite/digital receiver. If this is the case, look for a button on your cable/satellite/digital receiver remote control marked "CC" "CCD", "SUBTITLE".

Please try the above and then reply to me from within this page. Please state the model number of the TV and any cable/satellite/digital receiver you are using if/when replying.

Thanks,
BElectric

Remote control users manual needed

I had this problem just now for the Toshiba DC-SB1 remote control model, and I think the problem might be that you're pressing the wrong button. Try pressing the "skip track" button right below where it says close caption on the remote. It's deceiving because, based on where the words 'closed caption' are, it looks as if the stop button is associated with it, but it's not. That's what I was doing wrong, it may be a different problem for you though.
