Sorry can you clairify this question...

-> You need a new extension number for your set?
-> You need a new extension on your set so you can see when they are on their phone?

If it is the first, there are many things that you need first, too much to explain at the moment. But you need to have the password and a template for your phone to make changes.

If it is the second, press:
- Feature * 0 and any button to find out what is on the button, look for an empty button or one that you want to overwrite,
- then RLS,
- press FEATURE * 2
- press the button where you want to add this new extension
- dial the extension of the new person

Voila you are done!

Good luck!

"Set unavailable" error received when I tried to Set Copy on Norstar M7310 phone

Are you sure you have the correct extension number for the destination? I may be more than "not progammed correctly" - perhaps it isn't the ext# you think it is. Try Feature*0 then all the keys, especially the line keys, which should give you the extension number.

My M7310 gave up and we had another M7310 lying around. I would like to change the extension on this phone to same as my original phone how do I do this. Please help.

If you know the password and how to program the phone system, not phones then look under SystemProgramming/Change DN, note only the DN will change and not the button programming.
If unsure you need to call your local vendor in to program this for you.

Nortel Norstar T7316 programming extention to button. Won't let me program extension 230.

Just think about it, why would you want to auto dial yourself? You don't need an autodial key for yourself so the system don't allow you to program it.

Program a new Nortel m7310 phone with an existing extension

If the extension was a swap of the old M7310 with a new(ish) M7310 no additional programming should be necessary. However if the phone was replaced with another type of nortel set(M7208, M7324,T7313 etc.) then the phone will default to its base features. To re-program the feature keys press feature *3, the button you wish to program, and the feature code for that button
