1. Take remote control far away from tv - 3rd or fourth room. Then switch on tv. If uncontrollable scrolling stops , then cause may be remote button (Ch+ or Ch-) has got dirt inside and its shorting.

2. If taking remote far away doesn't stop scrolling then (Ch+ or Ch-) button on front pannel has shorted. Take a cutter plier and care fully remove button from its circuit board. ( If you know desoldering, it is far better than cutting). If scrolling stops then you can operate channel change with remote.

My Philips 32" TV channels keeps scrolling

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

I have a RCA 32la30rqd that has a logic problem

You really should not have a problem with a different manufacturer. It is common to have one manufacturer contract several companies to make the same board.

46xbr kdl hi for some reason my tv as froze on channel 44...it is set in the programs list and i cant remove it...

you could try returning in all of your channels from the main menu the tv can do this automatically but you need to select the procedure
1. click on the home button
2. scroll sideways till you reach settings
3. in settings scroll down or up and click on digital set-up (centre button of your scroll control)
4.then scroll down to, and click on digital auto tuning (centre button of your scroll control) this will activate automatic channel tuning the tv will do the rest and will wipe out old settings and retune in all channels

Toshiba 32av615db tv - keeps scrolling channels

On the back of the TV, where the main board is (the one with many AV inputs to it) there are several cables going into it.

Find the one that leads to the buttons on the TV - it won't be too hard to trace - and after turning on the TV disconnect that cable.

Or, if the cables for the buttons and the front LED and IR sensor are separate (sometimes they are) you disconnect the one for the buttons and then turn the TV on with the remote.

Either way, see if the problem persists with the buttons panel disconnected.

if it does then the problem is in the main board and likely you'll want it replaced. The way they make them these days it's really cheaper to replace the whole thing than to look for a problem among components the largest of which is about a millimeter long.

if the problem is in the button/cable connector...you'll probably find it easy. Often it's because that same cable has been trapped between the front and back covers and broken or shorted by the friction and pressure.

Hope this helps....would appreciate a review on Google if it does!

Menu Scrolls Uncontrollably

The most common cause of the problem is a stuck/shorted button either on the television or on the remote. The worst case scenario is a faulty key control board. Remove the remote control battery or put it away from the television. Press the menu button on the television and check if the menu scrolls by itself. If yes, the DOWN button is stuck or shorted. You can actually hear or feel it click when pressed if it is not stuck.

Open the back of the television to gain access to the key control board. You can either repair/replace the faulty button or replace the key control board. Remove the screw holding it to the television casing. Disconnect the old board and install the new one.

Replace the remote control if the buttons on the television control are working properly.

Our LG 37LB1DA is scrolling through channels

I have seen problems similar to yours in the past. Several causes can make the channels change by themselves. Some corrosion on the main board near the channel up/down switches for one. The next common cause is that the EPROM may be failing or a fault with the main control processor. A good test to see if the EPROM is having a problem is to program in all the channels off the cable and then unplug the TV over night and then plug back in the see if any channels are missing.

Repair

Disconnect the front control board and see if that stops the scrolling. If it does, check all of the small tact switches or the remote sensor. If that does not help, you might have a shorted microprocessor IC.
