Washing Machine won't go through spin cycle

Hi
I also think that it's not rinsing as the clothes have been in there for 2 days as I keep replaying the washing cycle in the (now) vain hope that it'll work. There are too many suds that would imply it's not rinsing either. I've found a drain outlet at the bottom left hand side of the machine - but the only way that I'd be able to soak up the water is putting every towel I possess on the floor....is this my only option??
Thanks

I have frequent SUDS problems with the MAH2400. I have cleaned all the outlet pipes from the drum to the wall drain but the machine still has problems. I am using HE wash powder and there are no suds visible in the machine. Is there a suds sensor or is this a pump problem/control problem? The user manual and tech manual offer no real assistance with this problem!

    Thanks - David Powell

To get the water out, lay the emptying hose down at floor level into a bowl, tip the water down the sink a bit at a time, then check for a blockage in the outlet filter, or the pump

Washing Machines will not rinse or spin

If the water won't drain out of your washing machine, either something is stuck in the drain hose or pump, or the pump is broken. Both fixes are simple if you're even just a little bit handy with tools. We're showing the repair on a Maytag washing machine.
What is wrong with a washer that does not spin?
If your washer fills with water but doesn't agitate, the problem is likely to be a faulty lid switch, a broken belt, or a problem with the motor. (Note: Direct-drivewashing machines do not have belts.) To diagnose the problem, do the following: 1Check the washing machine's spin cycle.

What causes a washing machine not to drain and spin?
If the washer won't drain there might be a clogged pump or hose. It's common for small socks or other small clothing items to get into the water drain system and clog the hose leading to the pump or the pump itself. Remove the hoses from the pump in order to remove the article of clothing.

We have an Ultima washing machine and creases the cloths very badly any suggestions please

The amount of creasing you will get is directly related to the speed you select for the final spin dry cycle and the spin after the first wash cycle which occurs prior to the rinse cycle. The higher the speed and the longer it goes for the more the clothes will crease.

Experiment with different spin speeds on your machine for clothing that is subject to the creasing problem. Also do not put too many items in the machine for a wash as many people do as this will contribute to creasing. Always under load your machine for every wash cycle.

Spin drying is a compromise between creasing and maximum water removal. If you want less creasing you will need to select a more gentle spin dry speed but you will also have the clothes coming out of the machine with a higher water content and they will take a bit longer to dry. The spin time on the program may also be shorter.

In my own machines I use a gentle wash and spin cycle for all clothing that I don't want heavily creased. Running it on a wash cycle with a high and longer spin speed when the machine is spinning the clothes after the initial wash, and then again after the final rinse, will thoroughly crease the clothes every time.

Also bear in mind that different fabrics that are suitable for machine washing will perform differently and some are just too subject to creasing even if you use the most gentle wash, rinse and spin cycle. Hence you can take 2 different 100% cotton fabrics out of a machine and hang them to dry and one will be almost crease free and the other will be thoroughly creased. With these fabrics that are just very subject to wash creasing, it is better to hand wash and rinse them. Then after rinsing drip dry them or put them in the machine and spin them for 1 -2 minutes maximum just to get some of the water out and hang dry them.

Hi can you tell me which programme is the short wash and spin please

I think I have the same type of washing machine as you do. Wash is when all the clothes get agitated or mixed with soap and water (ever look in there when its washing? the water can get pretty gross looking!) So in my washer, the rinse cycle is when all that gross water is drained, and the washer spins while spraying clean water over the clothes to get rid of the dirty water and soap. I think mine does this 5 or 6 times in the cycle. Next is the spin cycle, which is when the washer spins REALLY fast to **** as much water out of the clothes as possible, so that the clothes aren't sopping wet when you put them in the dryer.

It sounds like your mom has a newer washing machine, probably a front load one, and they do seem to keep using clean water, instead of just agitating the clothes in dirty water.

Rinse cycle does not work on washing machine

Sounds like a belt or clutch issue. What is the make and model #?

GE profile washing machine won't agitate it spins out, drains,

Pull the agitator out and check the drive collar splines. If you have the model I think you have just pull straight up on the agitator. Once removed you will see the drive collar with a 7/16 head bolt, remove it and pull off the collar.First before pulling it off spin it if splines are stripped it will spin freely.
