SOURCE: Hi, Just replaced the drive belt on a Husqvarna

Hello,
My name is Dane and I am going to help you solve your problem.
I looked up your mower and I believe you should be using drive belt# 5321701-40. That is a 112" belt. Here is a link to the parts manual and a drawing of the belt routing. As long as that is the belt you have, and replaced it correctly it should be fine. You are correct, when you put the mower in gear, the pulley system will put more tension on it.

Well, I hope I've helped. If you found this information useful, please leave me some THUMBS UP if you think I'm deserving! :-) Thank you! Dane

Starts but wont drive

Sounds like your drive belt came off the pulley. Look at the bottom of the engine. If you see a loose or broken belt, that's the problem.

Me drive belt is loose

Assuming the tensioner pulley is good and the associated spring is still stiff then the belt has simply stretched with time and use and should be replaced.

My Craftsman riding lawn mower LT2000 (2002/2003) stopped moving. The drive belt seems to be loose. The engine starts and cutting blade engages fine. Was working fine but stopped working when it started...

there should be a drive belt tensioner somewhere on the belt, it usually works off the clutch/brake, when you push on the brake it apply's the brake and also takes the tension off the belt to stop it from moving.
Not sure of your ride on mower but that is how my ride on mower works so I hope this helps.

Will not move

Have you checked for a loose or warn drive belt. A loose belt will not have enough friction to turn the wheels under load. Also check the tensioner pulley for the same belt.

How to ajust drive belt 145 john deere

It is better to replace and not adjust the wheel drive belt, too loose and it slips, too tight and you ruin very expensive bearings YOU can not replace...Belts are cheap, bearings are very expensive!

Re: Craftsman 50'' Garden Tractor, Mfr: AYR. Mower drive belt is in place, but will not drive mower...looks loose?

Make sure the routing of the belt is correct, pay attention to tension pulley. Make sure belt is also not stretched you might need new belt.
