If the freezer is freezing everything, check the coils. A refrigerant leak will cause ice to build up on the coils, not extra ice in the fridge. ... A leak in the compressor or coil will chill the air around the leak as long as it is outside, but a leak into the fridge could cause it to get extra cold.31 Aug 2015
you should send model number,if you have a damper control in your model most likely this is the problem, all that happens is cold air blows over from the freezer from the evaporator fan and blows through the top section of the fridge side,if the damper door isn't closing all the way it will cause freezing in the fridge section.
Your model should be ED25QFWHX and all you need is to replace the refrigerator thermostat you can see also all the parts diagrams of your fridge to the above link
Check the fridge sensor. On my Hoover HNMF2805AL80 f/f, first I replaced control module - still freezing. Have just replaced cheap fridge temperature sensor. Part No. 97061619. Trouble is you have to cut into insulation at back of fridge to replace. I just plugged in sensor & placed inside fridge at back at the bottom - so far so good, only lettuce freezing now, everything else v. cold but not frozen. :)
There is a flap that directs the air from freezer to fridge. Sometimes this flap can stick Or the actuator that controls the flap can go out. Same with autodefrost timer which seems to give a lot of people trouble. Thermostat is at the top, uncirculated cold air sinks, food in the bottom of the fridge freezes.
This is a drawback of most mini-fridges. Start by defrosting everything. Then fill ice cube trays with water and keep lowering the setting until the water freezes. Just go a little lower, no more. Fridge should not freeze food. If the fridge stays closed all the time food will freeze. Also if the freezer element gets ice buildup it must be defrosted. Not automatic like home fridge. Most kids today weren't born when the last fridges that had to be defrosted were in service.
try this, make sure you dont have anything blocking your blower in the freezer.if that is okay if you have seperate controls for the freezer and the fridge, try setting the frige setting lower and the freezer higher, this makes the blower work more in the freezer.hope it helps.
