Precor Error 27, Too Much Drive Motor Current Probable Cause 1. The running belt and/or deck are badly worn.
2. Drive motor is shorted or de-magnetized causing a high power demand.
Corrective Action

  1. Check the amp draw using a clamp on AC volt-amp meter during loaded and no load conditions and compare values to a similar treadmill that is known to have a good running belt and deck. Replace the belt and/or deck if necessary. Don't forget, some units have a double sided deck which means it may be flipped over rather than replaced if it has an unused side.
  2. Test unit with a known good drive motor. Replace drive motor if necessary.

I have a Reebok treadmill. The belt stops while the motor continues while walking on it. What could be causing this to happen?

the drive belt is too loose. you need to tighten the belt that drives the front rolller, which drives the walking belt. depending on the type of treadmill there shoudl be a way you can do this by loosening the motor and adjusting that to tighten the belt. it could also be that the belt needs to be replaced and also could be the walking belt. you should try to tighten the walking belt first. that is at the end of the treadmill where you walk on it. there are two holes one on each side of the treadmill where teh belt goes back under the treadmill. there are allen key bolts that you need to tighten clockwise one turn then try the treadmill. if it doesnt tighten then turn another full turn. if not tight enough then it might be the drive belt. if you tighten the walking belt all the way then try to tighten the drive belt.

How to adjust the running belt??

Check page 27 in the owner's manual:

"If the walking belt slips when walked on, first remove

the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. Using

the allen wrench, turn both rear roller bolts clockwise,

1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is correctly tightened,

you should be able to lift each side of the walking

belt 3 to 4 inches off the walking platform. Be

careful to keep the walking belt centered. Plug in the

power cord, insert the key, and carefully walk on the

treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking
belt is properly tightened."

I have a pro form cross walk advanced 525x when i jog on the treadmill the track will stop rotating mid stride

the treadmill should have tension adjusting screws. they'd be on the back of the treadmill where the belt wraps around the rear roller, they're inset and you'll need an allen wrench to adjust them. the screws adjust this rear roller. you'll want to tighten them to increase the tension. they also straighten the belt. if your belt is too fat to the right, you'll want to turn the adjustment screw on the right clockwise to tighten and this will bring the belt over to the left. and vica versa for the belt being too far to the left.

Treadmill seems to slip while running,

To tighten the belt, start by locating the two bolts that adjust the rear roller (one on each side of the unit in the back). Run the unit at about 3 mph. Tighten the bolts a 1/4 turn at a time. Make sure that what you do to one side, you MUST do to the other side or the belt will get off center. After you tighten it 1/4 turn, check the belt to see if it is still slipping. If it is then tighten the belt 1/4 turn again. Continue until the belt does not slip, but do not tighten the bolts more than 2 full turns.
