Just moved home office and after ADSL installation the internet light remains red even after trying to reboot several times. I have had internet access via ADSL on our main PC but the Wifi between PC and laptop does not work as it did before with all the same equipment.
SOURCE: Wi Fi fine, ISP fine, no internet via LAN connection though.
Make sure your firewall is not blocking your ability to go to websites. I saw this the other day, somehow the users firewall was set to block all internet traffic out of the computer.

You better reset it to the factory settings and reconfigure

i suppose you have to connect modem to router's "source" socket and modem to socket "in wall" then reset and reconfig router and you should be ok
when you upgraded did any settings from your isp change like passwords or usenames that your router may not be registering at your isp's server, or the line speed that you are now getting is not suported by the router.
type 192.168.2.1 in your web browser and check the connection settings.
