Could I have installed backward and if so what is the result?
If you have put the head gasket on wrong the problems will be no oil to the rocker gear--- over heating engine --oil leak down the engine block from under the head
You understand when I say left and right correct? The gaskets lined up for all of the ports but some of the ports on the gaskets are blocked or restricted. If you put the left on the right everything matches up but the blocked/restricted ports change location. I have put 900 miles on the vehicle after the head install without any oil leaking and no rocker noise. My concern is with the change in location of the blocked/restricted ports.
only you know what you are describing. IF by changing the head gasket and all the holes match up then that is the gasket for that side . Now on the other side you are saying that some of the holes are bloched . You have tried turning it over but that didn't work but did you end for end it then turn it over. There ar engines that have identical gaskets with tabs on one end . However on correct fitmant one tab faces front and one tab faces rear then everything lines up. If you have got holes blocked or restricted you do have a problem but it hasn't shown up yet , But rest assured it will with costly results.

SOURCE: 2005 Chrysler 300 thermostat location?
Hi,
In your Model :-
The automotive thermostat is a temperature controlled on and off valve.
When the temperature rises to a predetermined temperature, the
thermostat opens up to allow the engine coolant to flow through the
cylinder block and the radiator. This flow is crucial to maintain
optimum operating temperature for fuel efficiency, enhanced
driveability, and engine protection. The coolant flow is reduced when
the engine is cold, and the flow is increased when the engine is hot.
Contrary to popular opinion, operating the vehicle without the
thermostat doesn't make the engine run cooler. It will actually run
hotter because there isn't a thermostat to slow the coolant flow. This
means the coolant doesn't stay in the radiator long enough to dissipate
its heat.
TO TEST THERMOSTAT
There are several ways to test the opening temperature of a thermostat.
One method does not require that the thermostat be removed from the engine.
The other way to test a thermostat is to remove it.
Positioning a thermostat into an engine.
TO REPLACE THERMOSTAT
CAUTION
If the radiator is filled to the
top with coolant and the engine is run without the radiator cap in
place, the coolant will expand and spill over as the engine warms up.
NOTE
When a paper gasket is used and the recess is in
the thermostat housing, it is a good practice to position the
thermostat into the recess and glue the gasket to hold it in place. If
it falls out of its groove during installation, the outlet housing can
be cracked or a coolant leak will result. Before tightening the water
outlet housing, try to rock it back and forth to be sure it is flush.
Housings are often cracked during this step.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

It may be that, however, I will give you the instructions on how to do a simple test to see if it is inside the instrument cluster itself or the problem is somewhere else.
I hope this helps.
