If you can check previous pics and menu settings there, isn't a problem with the LCD screenviewer; sound like a problem with the CCD Image Sensor problem.
Its a camera CCD Problem. If the View finder & LCD both showing black then its 100% CCD problem. Let me know Lcd also black? Also make sure lens is not covered by any thing.
Hi Greg, Its not on the settings., Here the thing you need to Do
Turn Off the camera, remove the memory card then Turn On the camera and go to auto mode or smart scene., now if yu see black screen check the Lens is yur lens has cover or check if the Lens protracted. Now if the Lens has no cover and protracted thats good it means theres no problem on the lens., Now press Menu Button, If the options did not display it means LCD or screen is already defective. you can also press review button.,

Hi! There could be two causes - a dead imager (CCD) (most likely) or stuck lens shutter that won't open. They both are hardware problems, so I'm afraid you will have to give it away for a repair. As both of the problems are considered complicated to repair, it could get expensive. You should contact your local Kodak service center, as they should be the only ones with access to Kodak parts. I work in a Kodak service center.
Hey Wistra, You could try resetting your camera to the factory settings by choosing the reset to default setting in the menu. If this doesn't work the sensor on the camera is most likely broken, and you should have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician. If the camera was purchased less than a year ago the repair would most likely be covered under manufacturers’ warranty. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Allan Go Ahead. Use Us.
When I turn on the camera. the lens will not extend. The screen
will not show anything but a message, " date & time are already
programmed". No menu item works. Pictures cannot be taken.
It sounds like a bad connection on the ribbon cable of the LCD screen to the camera's motherboard. The fact that when you physically move the camera around and you can get the screen to then work, tells me something is loose inside.
