Just bought a house with smart code kwikset door. i had the manual to it, but during the chaos of moving in, lost the manual. need to know how to change code. Just moved to a house with one of these, the previous owner only knew the code but didn't have a manual. The person who posted a link to a the kwikset website stating the manual was there must not realize they've removed it for some reason. If someone knows how to reset these please post the instructions in the shortest and easiest way possible.

Under the Troubleshooting steps at the bottom, you will see this text:
Q: I just completed the installation of a Smart Code unit on my door; I am unable to operate it manually, although I checked for smooth bolt operation during installation. What should I do? A: You need to run the "Bolt Direction" routine again; allow the process to run to completion see Section 8 in User's Manual.
So please go through the installation instruction's Section 8 again. (Remove the battery pack first.) It is important to follow this procedure very carefully for success!
If you feel that you are following all steps correctly but the lock is still not functioning properly, please contact the Kwikset Customer Support:
slide the cover off the interior of the door. you will see a program button. you can program two individual codes. to program the first code, press the program button once, then enter your code on the exterior keypad and press the lock button. for the second code you would press the program button twice, then enter the code and press the lock button.
