I recently upgraded from canon 20D to canon 40D digital camera. I take sports pictures using the canon 70-200 2.8 lens. Since beginning to shoot with the 40D, I have been getting out of focus shots most of the time. I have been shooting baseball at 7:30 p.m. when there is still f plenty of light. I am using AV mode with the aperture at 2.8 and the shutter speed 500 or higher, ISO 400 and moving up to 800 when needed. I am using AL Servo with multi-burst shots. In the past, I have gotten really good pictures most of the time and now with the 40D I am getting out of focus shots most of the time. Even if the picture is somewhat in focus it looks grainy.
Any ideas?
