Protron lcd tv getting no power

Specification of Protron pltv-32 lcd ac adapter:
Output Voltage: 24V and 12V Volts DC
Amperage: 6 A and 3 A Amps

Check the power supply; look for bad caps with leaking/bulging tops, check to see if you have standby +5vdc at the power supply connector, the front red indicator will not be on if you do not have this +5vdc standby voltage due to shorted out Q7 and ZD4.

Common failure in this TV is the caps in the power supply are bad and also failed 5VDC standby supply stops working (if you do not see red indicator light on the front panel, the it is bad), and backlight inverter bd.

First make sure it does have at least red indicator on the front panel, if not, the standby +5vdc is not working, coomon problem with this monitor is dead power supply due to bad caps, shorted transistor and Zener Diode in the standby power supply.

power supply has failed good luck on this one try ramplus.com you need to get the FSP number off the supply

Replace the power supply inside the tv. I have found ther here. They are the cheepest place that has them.$60 not $100 at shop jimmy.

You will have to have the set checked by someone to confirm this,
but most likely there is a problem with the TVs internal power supply.

I have a Protron 32" LCD. My power supply crapped out as so many others have. There are several web sites that have the same complaints about the Protron LCD TV. Most of them refer to a bad power supply. A replacement power supply is almost impossible to get. However, I found that some people had their power supply repaired by a man in California. They even posted a link to his email address. I live in New york, but I figured, what else have I got to lose? If this doesn't work, I need a new TV anyway! His name is Dave Simpson and he responded to my email the next day. I shipped my power supply to him, and he fixed it! I got it back, plugged it in, turned on the television just in time to see my football team get destroyed! The whole process took less than a week! The best thing about this is that the cost of the repair was quite reasonable! This is especially true when you think of how much a new television would cost you! He even takes Paypal!
