How to enable CD digital audio extraction (Digital CD Audio Playback)
1. Click START / SETTINGS / CONTROL PANEL / SYSTEM.
2. Click the HARDWARE tab.
3. Click DEVICE MANAGER.
4. Click the plus (+) to the left of DVD / CD-ROM DEVICES and double-click your CD-ROM drive. Note you can also right click and select Properties.
5. Click the PROPERTIES tab and toggle ENABLE CD DIGITAL AUDIO EXTRACTION FOR THIS DRIVE.
6. Click OK
Repeat steps 4-6 for any other ROM drives listed in Device Manager.
Note you may need to reboot your computer for the change to take effect.
At this point CD digital audio extraction should be enable and you do not need to have the CD audio cable connected between your ROM drive and sound card. Note if you have an older computer (CPU under 1G) then you may need to have CD digital audio extraction turned off because your computer may not be able to handle the data from the CD on the system bus.
