I have a 2001 bmw 330i. I unlocked the car with the remote key and the car will not start. The dash lights come on and the headlights flash on but the engine will not turn over. Someone told me that that meant the alarm system was not disengaging. If that is so How do I get it to disengage. 2002 BMW 325ix wagon. Anti-theft system will not disarm. When I try to start the car: Hazard lights flash. Headlights flash from high to low beam. Instrument panel lights flash. It began with static when playing my CD player. I shut off the car and then tried to restart when the problem arose. How can I reset the anti-theft system?
OPEN THE DOORS AND BOOT LID AND TURN ON THE IGNITION THEN YOU DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR 11 MIN AND RECONNECT ON THE OBC A TIMER WILL START WITH THE ALARM SOUND AT THIS TIME DO NOT DO ANY TIME OR OPEN OR CLOSE ANY DOORS.WHEN THE TIMER HAS COMPLETED 15 MIN IS THENORM THEN ONLY DO YOU STAR UP BUT DO NOT TURN THE KEY BACK WHEN STARTING THIS WILL JUST RESET EVERYTHING.

Change the battery, 2-way remotes require 2 slim batteries on top of one another. Regular remotes only require 1.
