Xbox WONT read call of duty 4

Sounds like the drive is very dirty, or going out. Try cleaning it, or just replace it.

If you haven't already, try running a dvd cleaner through it a couple times. Usually clears it up for me.

Right, lay your Xbox360 down dont keep it upright, try installing COD4 to your hard drive then once installed go into you game library and click on cod4 and click play from hard drive ( and if you dont know how to install games to the hard drive make sure your xbox isnt on automatic start when a disc is inserted and put the disc in and when it says play cod4 press Y and then click install to hard drive) hope this helped....

how many times have you tried to play the disc?
the 360 is prone to many disc read errors, and most of the time if you just keep trying to play the disc it will work. xbox recognized the problem, and with the new dashboard update you can install games to your hard drive which minimizes the time the disk is spinning, which in turn minimizes disk read errors.

if it doesn't play, I would deffinetly try getting a new copy before sending in the console. getting a new copy is just a trip to the store, sending in the console will take a month.

does this only happen with CoD4? If so you may have a faulty disk. Goto your local blockbuster and rent CoD4 and see if it does the same thing. If it does, you need to RMA your ps3 877-253-SONY and request a RMA.

If it doesn't you got a bad game disk.

Cracks or scratches on the disk can prevent the xbox from reading data it needs to bring the game online. Try checking your COD4 disk for damage or warping.

It might be a problem with the disc itself. Try conventional disc cleaners and repairs. If those don't work, replace the game. If it still doesn't work, then you might need to send the console back to get it repaired. If you're still under warranty.

It's got to be the CD or did you do a glitch in the game
