E7 is CCD drive circuit trouble. Refer to the manual
obtainable from mauritron

It most likely is out of toner. Does it run and run and run when you turn it on ? It should " warm up " in a minute or less. If so, the toner is empty

Could be either one. Probably toner.

Sounds like the scanner is locked. Look under the scanner where the paper comes out, there is a clear wheel, turn it all the way one way or the other and that will unlock the scanner.

that sounds like the correct dimensions. there needs to be some slack in there so the sealant can be placed around it.
