Try to reboot the machine. The damage might already be done. Turn machine off, remove usb. Turn back on. Was the design the proper format?

With your machine off, manually move your carriage up & down or left & right, when you put on your machine the carriage should run back to its original setting.

See if the embroidery arm is bent, that will jam the unit as it trys to move. If is bent you may be able to straighten my bending it gently. The arms get bent by tilting the machine to the back while the arm is exrended.

When my janome 350e did this I had to take it in to be calibrated and one month later it did it again and I had to take it back it has not given me any problems since but it would be nice to know how to do this myself it only took 5 minutes for this and takes me 3 hours there and 3 hours back. Your space is not formatted correctly to the size of the hoop. For example if the hoop is 5x7 your design has to fit within that space, and the space cannot be bigger than 5x7. Strange but true and it will fix the reboot and shut down issue.
