SOURCE: I can't get my view mode to change. It is on

If you are connected to a cable box or a satellite receiver make sure its resolution is set to 720p then look on the remote that came with it for the hd zoom # button. You may have a format or aspect button on that remote to change the picture size

When the resolution on the connected device is wrong this can happen.

SOURCE: We have a 52" Aquos

Go into the user menu and set the default to full. If this does not correct your issue, then take it to a service center. You are still covered under Warranty.

Just recently my sharp aquos lc 40 e is stuck in stretch of wide screen and the heads or top of things are being cut off. When i go to view mode it only gives me 4 options wide, stretch dot to dot or zoom...

Not all TV programs are broadcast in 1080. When you use zoom or stretch on a program in 720 or 480 and a 1080 program is viewed you have to go back and take off zoom and stretch to get a correct picture.

I can't get my view mode to change. It is on stretch right now but is cutting off the bottom of the screen. The other view modes don't show up . My remote works on other things but not this feature.

My picture seems oversized so when viewing it you cant see everything.

What source are you using? Cable Box? Cable tuner? DVD? Computer?

Most of the time your TV's remote will have a button that says "Aspect" or "View Mode" or "Zoom" they can stretch zoom and distort the screen and cause this.

If it is a DVD or Set Top Box you may have to go into the menu or set-up screen and change the aspect ratio to that of your TV.

Let me know if that helps, any more details would be great.

Thanks!

Screen shuts off. Power lite blinks. Aquos 42"

Hi,

Hope you have the correct resolution selected:

HD View Modes: When viewing an HD program you can select the following 4 viewing modes.
  • Stretch: suitable for viewing 1.78:1 DVDs. When viewing 1.85:1 DVDs, this mode will show thin black bands at top and bottom of the screen.
  • Dot by Dot (1080i/p only): detects the resolution of the signal and displays an image with the same number of pixels on the screen. When a 720p signal is being input, the image will be delivered in full screen.
  • Smart Stretch: suitable for stretching 4:3 programs to fill the screen.
  • Zoom: suitable for viewing wide-screen 2.35:1 aspect-ratio programs in full screen.
PC View Modes: You can connect the TV to your PC through the HDMI inputs to use the TV as a monitor. The following view modes are available in PC mode.
  • 4:3 Input Signal: You can select between Normal, Zoom, Stretch, or Dot by Dot.
  • 16:9 Input Signal: You can select between Stretch or Dot by Dot.
Also verify if you have set auto timer to 30 mins or so thats why the TV shuts down after a particular time.

Thanks

Zoom problem

there should be a BUTTON ON THE REMOTE SMALL ON TOP RIGHT OF CENTER CROSHAIR IN MIDDLE THAT SAYS SOMETHING LIKE VIEW MODE PRESS IT AND YOU CAN SWITCH BETWEEN ZOOM, STRETCH ECT. ALSO IF YOU HAVE DIGITAL CABLE AT HOME THEN THEY ALSO HAVE A ZOOM BUTTON ON IT AS WELL LOOK AT YOUR REMOTE HARD THESE BUTTONS ARE USUALLY THE SMALLER ONES.

Aspect ratio problems on Samsung LN-S2651D Flat Panel TV

The aspect ratio (zoom) button on the cable remote had been changed. On Brighthouse the # button toggles through the zoom settings. It's not a tv issue, it's a cable fix.

Aspect Function Not Working

Normallly, if the picture size button on the remote for the television does not achieve the desired affect, then, a cable box or a satelite box is where the change needs to be made. For example: A Motorola Cable box needs to be set up to go to a wide screen or zoom when an analog signal is detected. Some Dish Network boxes have Size buttons on their remotes and also in their main menu. It's difficult to determine the repair without knowing the types of the peripherals. Hope this helps.
