Just replaced toner cartridge. Test sheet printed fine, first sheet of document ok, second sheet all black and stuck halfway in printer. Model MF3240. Can you help?
SOURCE: Not printing color
Loks like there is a "well" under the "docked" position of the heads (at the right end of the unit, facing it - under the control buttons.) In my unit, ink had built up in this well to the point that some of the mechanical bits were scraping the top of the built-up ink pile. After I carefully removed about two TootsieRoll's-worth of old dried ink with a long scewdriver (using a flashlight to illuminate the area), the color printing seemed to be doing better. Can't tell yet if this has completely resolved the problem, as I have not yet printed enough pages to prove the point...

I know you've tried some of the below suggtions but I put the whole list there for everyone else. If this printer is less than a year old call them. Their tech support has changed a lot! They try to take care of you.
Possible causes:
· Check/Replace the toner cartridge
· Check the charge roll assembly (see Note below)
· Check the Toner Darkness, Brightness, and Contrast settings
· Try cleaning the inside of the printer
· Bright light/sunlight entering the printer (on right side of printer)
· Printing on media other than plain paper (make sure you're using laser paper- it makes a difference!)
· Using a refilled cartridge. Lexmark will emphatically tell you they are not supported.
NOTE: Checking the charge roller:
1 Power off the printer and remove the toner cartridge.
2 Look into the upper area of the printer where the cartridge was sitting. Located near the top of the printer you will see a couple of gray rollers. This is the charge roller assembly. See the area highlighted in the image below.
NOTE: If you cannot see the rollers, close the upper lid slightly and the rollers should lower into view.
For larger version of this image, click here.
3 Make sure the roller assembly is seated correctly into the holders on the left and right-hand sides. If not, try to reseat the assembly into the holder arm.
IMPORTANT! If the charge roller assembly is not present, it needs to be installed. Look around the inside of the printer and near the printer for the roller assembly. If the charge roller assembly is missing, you will need to order a replacement set in order to get the printer operational again. See the 'Additional Assistance' section at the end of this document for more information.
4 If the rollers are present and installed correctly, check their condition. If the roller surface appears dirty, take a clean dry cloth and carefully clean off any dust or toner. Do your best to ensure all of the roller surface is clean. NOTE: If any part of the rollers is damaged, the charge roll assembly will need to be replaced.
CAUTION! Try not to touch the rollers with your bare hands. The surface is susceptible to contamination and a permanent mark could remain on the rollers.
5 If you were able to reseat the charge roller assembly or managed to clean the rollers, power on the printer and try printing again. Print 10 to 20 pages to give the pages a chance to clear up. If the pages do not begin to clear, the printer will likely require service to correct the issue.
For more information on arranging repair service, please contact Lexmark Technical Support or an authorized service center. See the 'Additional Assistance' section at the end of this document for details.
