HTC S710 - Battery issue

Hi - I bought my HTC S710 about three months ago. I love the phone and it's functions, but the battery power is horrible. My battery lasts only for 1 - 2 hours per day. Another funny thing I've noticed, is that when I charge my phone for an hour or so, Power Mangement displays 100%, but as soon as I disconnects the charger, the power meter goes down to 35% again. Please help me with my problem. How can I fix this. Do I need to buy a new battery? Any suggestions? Problems are 1] battery back up Only for 3 hours , 2]if i disconnect the phone with red button , 3] # symbol appear on the screen. during talk phone suddenly get switched off. 4]Phone not at all configure till now due to no body aware of this in Jayanagar show room 5]suddenly come mute or hold mode 6] pl recommend some repair centre in BANGALORE Where i can get it repair 7] phone is one year old spent to close to Rs17000/- what to do

Hi guys

if u buy new battery for around 35$... its creepy thing that it again sucks within
6 month
so follow these procedure that i really got good response

1)Buy the new battery from any other dealers (u can use Nokia (std) or LG, Micromax, Onida... etc)
having same specifications as 1050mAh Lion-POLYMER 3.7v and having equivalent Size that fit into the case.

2)Now open ur dead battery, remove the sticker slowly, u wil get the polythene bag carrying the charge sheets
.
3)Please note that dont not disturb this polythene bag... (cutting, drilling or pinning), else it starts burning.

4)U will see a circuit above the polyhthene bag having two poles (+ve n -ve) just cut the poles of bag from the circuit and keep the bag aside

5)Now do the same procedure with new batt and remove the polythene bag.. and soilder with
the dead battery circuit. (check the +ve n -ve by multimeter)

5)Re-assemble with insulation tape and recondition it perfectly.
now check poles bofore starting.

Note : i got good result from this and i m getting 18-19hrs standby and 11-15hrs usage. Do it on ur own risk...and i m not responsable for ny harm)

Battery on my HTC s710 lasts for 3-4 hours

if you momentarily push the "start" button, that should put the phone into hybernation. Which means the screen will go dark and quit using power. If the phone rings it will automatically wake up. If you want to use it just hit the start button again.

There are also some settings in the "settings" menu that determine when and for how long the screen stays illuminated when not in use.

HTC S710 Smartphone not switching on

The battery is flat.
If the battery is very flat sometimes the phone will not start charging or turn on even when a power cable is connected.

This worked for me:
- Remove battery
- Insert power cable/usb cable
- Orange charge light should start flashing
- Re-insert battery
- Leave phone charge for a couple of hours
- Turn on

At HTC S710 On Start up Three colors apear......

i had this problem when the handset got WET did it get wet by chance? If so you need to ensure it stays in a dry not too hot a place for a day or two REMEMBER to have the power off and also out of the back too.
I got the three colours all i done was took the battery out while the phone was on and then restarted the phone (after replacing the battery) Do this Once or twice more if it fails then you will have to do a reboot. go to www.bt.com/help/broadband anywhere (british telecom safe site for htc handset help) The site will give you the info required to reboot handset. Hope this is of help to you. Even if your handset was not wet i would do the battery bit and the reboot too.......

I had the same problem. Went and bought a new battery.
Replaced it and let it charged without turning it off.
4 days now and I have not see the black screen yet.
Before it was happening almost everytime I wanted to use my phone.
At least once a hour I would have to shutdown and pull the battery.

HTC S710 - Battery issue

Hi,
it could be either battery or charger, If the charger isn't supplying enough power it will fool the phone..
some 3rd party batteries and cheapo chargers can cause all sorts of problems like this.
best way to test is charge your phone by usb, it takes longer but will give you some idea of weather its the battery or charger.
Make sure that the box at the bottom of the power management window (dont charge by usb) is set to off. Also for best results remove any other usb devices from the computer this will leave more power for the phone.

Best of luck

Htc s710

very strange I would try a hard reset,
Backup your data as this will totally reset the phone.

There are two methods to performing a hard reset
  • Select Start > Accessories > Clear Storage. Enter 1234 where prompted and select YES.
  • Power the device off. Press and hold the left and right soft keys. Power the device on while holding these keys. Follow the on-screen prompts to factory reset the device.
If it fixes it maybe you installed some dodgy software, if it doesn't it sounds like a hardware problem
Best of luck
