USB 2.0 on Tyan S1845 Trinity 400 Motherboard

My Linksys USB Wireless network adapter flashes the it would work better plugged into a 2.0 USB Port. Does this motherboard support it? Can you plug in additional USB ports with a 7 pin connector on the board & where?

Hi freebird2k6,

Go to this Soyo link:
http://www.soyousa.com/content/Downloads/155/&c=35&p=173&l=English
Drivers, bios & manual located on this site.
Manual is at the bottom of page. (Soyo no longer supports the board so download everything & burn it to CD).
Soyo may stop listing these drivers soon.

Good luck!

SOURCE: Hooking up Front USB Port

the red wires go on the side that is not missing a pin.
....
.....
in this scenario, 4pin goes on top, 5pin on bottom, red wires on left.
.....
....
in this, 4pin on bottom, 5pin on top, red still on left.
i wont show you the reverse of that because you should understand and i think the formatting on this page will screw it up.

Try disabling the onboard wireless adapter- the two may be conflicting w/ each other. The other thing I can think of is try a system that does NOT have wireless onboard (a desktop for instance)- that way you could see if the issue is indeed the internal connection's broadcast interfering with the usb adapter

First unplug your router, then unplug your modem and for 10 seconds. Next plug the modem back in and wait it to reboot(on mine this a series of 4 lights that light up in sequence, when the 4th light stops flashing, reboot is complete). Finally plug your router back in.

When I installed my Linksys WUSB54GSC Adapter my computer will not boot up. I have Windows Vista. The computer is new.

Disconnect the usb adapter and see if your computer still boots up. If it does, try connecting the adapter on another usb port and see what happens. If your PC will still not boot up using another usb port, try the adapter on a 2nd computer. If 2nd PC fails to boot up when the adapter is plugged in, most likely the adapter is faulty.

My adapter is registered as inactive, but it is plugged in.

Go to Start -> Control panel -> Network connections. Right click on your wireless device and click enable. It should work after that.

Wont connect to wireless network

first, I suggest trying a different USB port. remove the adapter and the icon should disappear, so if the usb port is loose or broken that may be why its acting like that. Plug it into a different port and try it. You may have to reinstall the driver for the next usb port depending on your system
