RED AND GREEN LED INDICATORS This smoke alarm features separate red and green LED indicators. The LEDs indicate the following: GREEN LED CONSTANT ON - AC power is present. OFF - AC power is not present. RED LED - Can be seen through the Push-to-Test button. Blinks once a minute - Indicating presence of a working battery. Blinks once a second - Smoke alarm senses smoke and simultaneously sounds an audible alarm. Blinks once every 10 seconds - Smoke alarm is quieting an unwanted alarm (Model ADC only). (Interconnected system only): OFF - Another smoke alarm in the network has sensed smoke and is signalling this alarm.
The constant green LED means the alarm has AC power.
A flashing green light every 2 seconds without an audible alert means the unit recently sounded ( was the one activated ) and is now in latching mode to let you know that it was the unit that detected the problem. To clear the latching mode hold down the test button for 5 seconds.
Red LED flashing once per minute means that the back-up battery is connected and functioning.
Red light flashing constantly during alarm means that it is the unit that initiated the alarm siren.
Your description sounds like the main alarm is not activated - good, the beeping and flashing light may be that the AC supply is switched off or the internal battery is needing replaced.
The AC supply may have been disturbed with the earlier work.
If in any doubt , do not operate the heating unit until your alarm is working happily.
Drop down the dash and locate the alarm module(generally a black box) find two thicker wires going to or from the ignition. at the ignition end check to see if these two wires are attatched to a wire coming from the ignition that has been cut and joined to the two alarm wires ,if so cut them and rejoin them, this will get you home. Then go to a tech.
