SOURCE: handset has No link to base

I was having the same problem with the same model phone, and fixed the problem by rebooting the phone – unplugging the AC and phone cord from the base station and plugging both back it, then removing and replacing the handset to regenerate the security code.

SOURCE: Handset ?No Link To Base? error and no dial tone

2/29 Have you registered or re-registered the handset?
"No link" can mean handset is not accepting radio wave of base unit. At Mfgr website pull-down operator's manual and look for registration instructions. Some sequence of buttons will create a radio signal from base (have handset off base) then another sequence of buttons on handset will accept radio signal. If handset has "menu" button, try "menu", then "00" (zero zero) then select an accept or "OK" button. Good luck.

What does Out of Range or No Power at Base mean?

Hello, Gwen -

If you are asking about a cordless land line phone. . .

"Out of Range" means the handset has lost its connection with the base station. Cordless phones are actually forms of radios. They need to be in radio wave connection with the phone base.

"No Power at Base" means that the electric power cord for the phone base is not plugged in or loose in the electrical outlet or that the batteries in the cordless handset need replacing.

Can I connect a CL82409 handset to a CL82409 base system

Yes, and no.
When you buy the new corded base station (CL84109) with 1 handset, that base unit by default is "paired" with only the 1 cordless handset that came with it.

While you can plug both base stations into the landline wall plugs (RJ-11), and when the line rings, both base unit phones will ring and will each operate as independent corded phones would.
But, in this scenario, the cordless phones communicate only through the base unit they are Paired with. The cordless phone paired with the CL84109 corded base unit will not be able to transfer or Intercom between the cordless phones paired with the CL82409 base unit.

However, if you want to transfer the cordless phones that originally came with the CL82409 base unit to work directly with the CL84109 corded base unit, you can likely "Pair" them to work directly with the CL84109 corded base unit for a total of 5 cordless phones to be paired to the CL84109 base unit.

Consult the User Guide that came with the CL84109 base unit for instructions on how to Pair additional cordless phoned to this base unit.

The CL84109 can be expanded and paired with up to 12 cordless phones. So, this should be do-able.

Keeping in mind that the CL82409 will no longer have any phones paired to it and will thus be useless from that point on. (unless you pair more expansion cordless phones to it again)

I have a Uniden cordless phone #D2CT 6.0--I love the phone but the party on the other end of the line can barely hear me -how can I fix this or this a bad phone???

At 20 ft line of sight, you should have perfect reception with most any cordless phone.

The fuzzy signal can indicate:
1.
A weak signal between base and handset.
20 ft line of sight should have a good strong signal.
Your handset may be defective.
Or, your handset battery may be weak.
Your base unit may be defective.

2.
You may be experiencing RFI Interference.
Is the base unit next to any other electronic devices?
If it is next to a wireless router or some other wireless device, it may be overloaded by the nearby signal (even if on a different frequency)

I've got a 5 year old Panasonic 5.8 Ghz cordless phone connected to my VoIP box. I just tested it from about 25 ft away from the base unit in another room with a wall in between and my reception is perfect.

I did the same test with my Panasonic DECT 6.0 phones (1.9 GHz). The first handset is slightly fuzzy, but otherwise good signal. The 2nd handset was perfectly quiet with good strong signal. So, there is a difference between two identical handsets connected to the same base unit. This indicates to me that one handset is better tuned than the other. Nothing I can do about that but get a new 2nd extension cordless handset. Sometimes, it's just luck of the draw

I have a Uniden cordless phone EZI996, The lights on the base are blinking on & off bright red.

Hi.

Try the following procedure to reset and re-sync the phone system:

  • Disconnect all units from power.
  • Remove batteries from all handset.
  • Check all phone connections to base.
  • Check the phone connector underneath the base (RJ11 squared plug).
  • Put back battries on handsets.
  • Place handsets on base.
  • Connect base back to power with handset sitting on base.

If that does not fix the problem , then there is an internal fault. In that case call Uniden to arrange repair or replacement.

Uniden support number for your area is prited inside the user documentation.

Regards.

registered it can use the base’s phone connection. A cordless handset will
not operate until it is registered to the base. During the registration

in the display. 2NO is the default setting.
2. Press the 1 number key or press the MESSAGES/CID (or) button
on the base to scroll to 1YES.
3. Press flash/program to confirm handset is linked to the base. WAITING
HANDSET REGISTRATION shows in the display.
4. Press the flash/program button on the handset until LINK BASE? shows
in the display. 2NO is the default setting.

Handset flashes "searching" and has stopped working

Did you already try cleaning the connections on the phone and the base with alcohol on a Q-tip? Make sure the connections on the phone are touching the base propely.
