How do I empty/delete items from memory card?
First you should save the pictures to a computer. After you delete them they are gone forever.
But the view menu, you just press the menu button. In the most left tab, the third line is a bin. goto that line and press the arrow to the right. Then you can chose what you want to delete. Only one picture, pictures with a certain date, a folder or even all pictures.
it is in the English manual on page 101 and 102

Hi, First, lets try formatting the card. But be aware that it will erase everything on the card. 1 Turn on the camera 2 Press the Menu button 3 Toggle once to the left to get the Setup menu (the one with the hammer/wrench icon) 4 Toggle down to Format 5 Select OK and press the Set button. To perform a low-level format, press the up arrow and then the right arrow to add the check mark. After you do this, exit the menu by pressing the Menu button. Take some still photos first. Download them to the computer but don't delete them from the card yet. Disconnect the camera from the computer (or if you are using a card reader remove the card). Delete the images from the card by using the menu in the playback/review mode. Let me know if this solves anything.

Have you ever formatted your card? Recommend that you do this IN YOUR CAMERA. But keep in mind that this will erase your card, so make sure that you have downloaded all your photos to your computer first. Go to the tools menu, then scroll down to the selection stating your memory card's capacity and select it. Then follow the prompts to format it (select "low-level" format for the first time you do this, then uncheck it for any other times you do this). Again, THIS WILL ERASE YOUR CARD, but it will also rejuvenate your card and setup proper file structure to lessen the chance for file corruption.
