You need to disassemble the carb. and spray with carb. cleaner. If you need tips on how to do this, just let me know. You may need a new carb. kit as well, but we won't know that until you first perform the first step, or if the carb. parts are more than 3 years old. If they are, then go ahead and buy the carb. kit and replace the parts.

Homelite gas edger cuts off after running about 10-15 seconds

The fact that is runs slightly longer on full choke may point still to a fuelling issue.. Does it actually Rev in those 10 seconds or does it just want to bog down and stall.?

My homelite string trimmmer will not run when choke is run position. it will run, but not at full throtle, when choke is set between full choke and half-choke.

you've got a fuel system issue , most likely carb problem, if this a newer trimmer it will likely need the carburetor replaced or adjusted, also check for cracking fuel lines or signs of old fuel varnish in the tank

Homelite mighty lite wont stay running

the problem is in the carburetor most likely, it may be cleaned and adjusted, if not it will likely need a new carb

It won't run prorerly

I had the same problem. I took it to the dumpster and used my old echo that I purchased in 1986. The Homelite was 2 years old. My sugesstion is to dump it.

Stalls out at full throttle

Has the air filter been removed, damaged, or the airbox not seated propelry on the carbs neck, this would cause it to run lean hence requiring the choke to be in operation all the time. Have you tried fresh fuel?? This goes stale after a while. I hope this is helpful, Ian

Engine dies when excelerating - more gas

check the fuek lines for hole and leaks, check the fuel filter and clean if necessary. remove the carbuerator and inspect the gasket; it should be soft and flexible, if it seems hard or brittle replace it. clean the carb with carb cleaner sray (available at any local auto parts store) and compressed air. make sure you get inside the small fuel rail holes. if that doesn't work have the carb repaired at a service center or replaced.
