I have a uniden grant cb radio. its got a mb 8719 pll and it is off tx frequency. I need to know which pot to adjust to put back alignment without a frequency counter just will do it by ear.
You can't You need a spectrum analyzer to set the frequency correctly. This is not something you can do by ear. When you go poking around inside with a screw driver, you can mess up the entire radio. One adjustment will affect other adjustments. That's why there are radio repair shops. Just take it to one.

VR3 adjusts the transmit frequency. It's located near the center of the PC board close to the front panel. As this is a hit-or-miss operation, it would be wise to use a frequency counter when attempting it.

i have just printed off a hard copy of this manual it was on Http//.www.uniden.com.au/ RESOUCES main/pdf/uh011.pdf If that isnt helpfull i could post it out to you.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Have you tried VR5? Not much on the mods other than adjusting L8-10 for AM power.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

DX 2517 and DX 2527-
Symptom:Buzzing or motorboating sound in either the transmit or receive.
Problem: TR602 is oscillating
Cure: Replace C602 with a .01uF cap {Cap is located in the power supply board}.
RG 66,99,DX2517 Replace Q54 2SB754 60watt 7A with a higher power
2SB817 100 Watt 12A. Derating of this component will cool operation,
provide better voltage stability, decrease wobble, allow voltage
increase to 14.5 volts comfortably. (replace 10 volt caps in this
section of the radio to a minimum of 16 volts before increasing supply
voltage to this level)and provide faster swing rise time, Replace Q37
2SA473 to a 2SA1012-0 or ECG153 this will improve the clarity and
volume of the modulation and it will also run a lot cooler.

hello,
The limiter is what limits the modulation. Often times there is a pot that you can turn to adjust it. To get more power and swing out of your radio do this DM1 is the mod limiter RVM1 is the mod pot. Adjust this for maximum modulation. Spread the coils marked Lt5/LT12 just a little Spread LT7/LT11 a lot.

Tony
