2.Using Software to Reset BIOS Password
Thereare two programs that can be used to reset the BIOS password: !BIOS andCmosPwd.
!BIOSwill recover the BIOS password for most common BIOS versions, including IBM,American Megatrends Inc, Award and Phoenix. You can download it here.Click on Download DOS executable.
CmosPwd will recover the BIOS password for the following BIOSversions:
You can download CmosPwd here. Scroll down andlook for Cmos password recoverytools 5.0 (October 2007) and click the zip that contains a hyperlink.
In order to use these two programs you will need toboot into DOS from a Windows 98 disk or create a DOS boot disk that you can burnto CD or copy to a flash drive. If you don't know how to do this, thenpost back and I can post further instructions.
Go to the website of the company who makes your laptop or desktop. The majority of these sites have a portion of their site they devote to updates. Look in this section to locate your BIOS updates. When you find the file you need, download the BIOS to your computer's hard drive.
Go to Biosman to download and install the Phoenix BIOS flash utility software. This software allows you to read the data your BIOS file contains.
Flash your BIOS via USB storage device. Copy your update to the USB drive. Then, modify the boot order of your laptop or desktop to begin with your USB drive. Push "F2" or whichever key prompts you to enter your BIOS when you reboot your system.
Double-click the BIOS file you just downloaded to run the upgrade procedure.
Good Luck
