All i get on my e-machine is a blue screen that says fatal system error has occured and it wont let me get to anything..this started after i tried to install norton to remove viruses...Help me Please.. Thanks
The earlier suggestion of going into safe mode is spot on. But what do you do when you get there?
Assuming Windows XP/Vista:
I will suggest a two prong approach to this. I think the blue screen is the infectors attempt to corrupt your antivirus install. The first step is to get us back to a stable, though still infected, state.
So, after you've gotten into safe mode you could attempt to go back to a previous restore point (see Use System Restore to Undo Changes if Problems Occur)
Another approach would be to use msconfig to shut down everything (except, of course, the infector). To do that, click "Start", "Run...", type "msconfig" and click [ok] or press [Enter].
Choose "Diagnostics Startup", click [OK] and allow it to restart your computer. This will essentially disable ALL non-essential services and startup programs.
Once restarted, it will notify you that msconfig has been invoked. This won't get rid of the 'bad guy', but it will get us to the point of being able to do something about it. You will probably find it necessary to go back into msconfig and enable some services, specifically those belonging to Microsoft. Things like Windows Installer if you are trying to install/uninstall applications.
Stage two is getting rid of whatever started this whole mess. There are a number of stand-alone spyware/malware removal tools. Many are FREE!
I've had the most luck with spyware removal using Malwarebytes. Download here: Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Download Link.
And since no one spyware/malware tool is perfect, don't be afraid to use any of the malware tools found here: http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-adware-spyware-scumware-remover.htm.
The only tool I use that isn't mentioned there is ComboFix: http://www.combofix.org/. Honestly, while some of the others have better detection rates, if it finds it, ComboFix is THE most effective removal tool I've found.
If none of this works, a last resort is to use a Live Boot Disk solution like UBCD for Windows. You will need access to a working computer and a Windows XP installation CD to do this, but you can 'get around' your infected OS and, hopefully, clean things up.

Good Luck!

Go into safe mode and see if your can install norton anti-virus in safe mode.
Reboot your computer and tap f8 several time during boot sequence.
you may need to use a non usb keyboard if you have one.
the virus is crashing your computer or you don;t have enough room on your drive to let windows run.
