Gas pressure washer will not start

I have a brand new(never used) Karcher 2,500 PSI power washer with a 5 HP Honda engine that sat in my shed for a couple of years(unused). I finally got around to trying to use it, added oil, gas, pulled the choke closed, released the pressure in the hose and pulled the cord about a hundred times. It just won't start. I even pulled the spark plug, and sprayed starting fluid(ether) into the combustion chamber and it wouldn't even turn over once. Any ideas?

One thing I saw one thing that you did not list did you you turn the start switch on its usually on the right side of the motor, If not switch will ground out coil and no spark is received.

I have 5.5hp briggs&stratton pressure washer Simoniz S2350. Would you know the PSI for this item?

Every 5.5 HP pressure washer runs between 2,200 and 2,500 PSI with most set by the manufacturer at 2,400 PSI with 3,600 RPM of engine speed.

Due to the power required to produce more than 2,500 PSI a 5.5 HP engine would lose engine speed as it can not produce enough power for the higher PSI output. It is a matter of hydraulics vs input power.

Any gas pressure washer will produce lower pressure with lower engine RPM. Looking at S2350 as your model number yours may be set to 2,350 PSI by Simoniz.

Thanks for using FixYa.

OUR KARCHER 2600 PSI PRESSURE WASHER W/ HONDA ENGINE WON'T START. WE BOUGHT IT A SAM'S CLUB LAST YEAR AND PROBABLY HAS ONLY BEEN USED ABOUT 4 TIMES. PLEASE ADVISE.

Hello:
Have you tried changing the gas, Especially, if it has been in the machine of a while. Also some Honda engines will not start if the oil is low. Also try removing the high pressure hose before you start it? Do not run it very long without water flowing through the pump, though.

Power washer will not start

Clean the carb. Change the plug. Get some start fluid but use sparingly. Run the water (pull the washer trigger) while you are trying to start the engine.

Karcher G 3000 BH Engine Pumping Problem

This may not be a motor problem. It sounds like your pump is not working properly and the motor is just following the pump. First thing to do is check for leaks in the pump, wand hose, gun etc. It may also be a blown water seal inside the pump.
