SOURCE: All error lights blinking and fan running but won't print...

Yes Mr. Guest and Mr SwT,

Replace the fuser assembly unit.

Definitely the fuser got problem. This can be confirm by pressing the Go button and only the Toner LED will light up.

What had happen was right after the power blackout the fuser has fused together both rollers (heating drum and rubber roller) where the paper pass through in between the rollers. Since there was a power blackout, the printer fan has stop functioning and the heat was unable to disperse out from the printer. Suggest to improve on design to disperse heat using aluminium cage in case of power blackout.

Who ever has a Brother HL-2040 should definitely use together with a UPS.

SOURCE: Can't print multiple copies

On your Brother's drop- down menu, left click on PRINTING PREFERENCES . On the BASIC tab, choose the number of prints in the COPIES box, then left click on APPLY. If that does not work, go into PROPERTIES, left click on the SECURITY tab, and check that you have authorization to run multiple prints. Also, check your PRINT SPOOLING mode to make sure it is activated, and check authorizations in OFFICE 2007- it may be set to restrict multiple color pints.

SOURCE: Printer Won't Print

Follow the link below for what the lights on the machine mean. I know that if your alarm and data light are on it means the toner is empty, and you wont be able to print, you would need to replace the toner cartridge, please follow the link below.

HOT TO ADJUST THE TEAR HEIGHT ON A MICROLINE 490 WITHOUT USING THE SETUP DISC

If you are using regular letter size continuous printer paper, load the paper normally with the machine turned off. You can even turn the knob to feed the paper through, it doesn't matter how far. Turn the printer back on and press "PARK" button. Then press the "FF/LOAD" button and when you begin printing it will automatically print at the top of form (TOF). If the TOF ever gets thrown off you can press "LINE FEED" until the tear is where you want it and press "SHIFT" > "TOF" to back back to the previous page (or top of form).
Simply put, pressing "PARK" then "LOAD" should set the tear where you need it.

One label printing over two label forms

Always check to make sure the printer is advancing one label at a time by itself before printing. If it does then you know the printer has a good read on the label size. Then if it misaligns when printing then you know the problem is in the printer driver because the printer is only going to do what it's told to do.

So best is to turn printer off, power up, press feed to see if one label feeds ok. If the label feed is off at this point then the printer needs to be calibrated which is done by pressing and holding FEED while turning the printer on.

Hope that helps !

HP color laser 4600dn FAN noise

Yes this is normal. Everytime someone prints, the printer exits power saving mode and the fan will stay on. If you leave it on and don't print to it overnight, the fan would shut off in the mornig. But you probably turn the printer off everynight and are printing all day, so you don't really have to expectthe fan to power down unless its not being used for an long period of time idleing.

Printer says printing document but will not print. anything

I had this same problem, and after 45 minutes with HP support, eventually managed to get it to print by turning the printer of and then holding down both arrow keys (left and right) at the same time while turning the printer back on. I held down the arrow keys until it said "Language: English" and then clicked through the prompts. It then restarted, and all was well again.
Other places mention doing this with the OK and Cancel keys, but that didn't do it for me - the arrow keys did.
