Whirlpool loc My Whirlpool stove/oven is showing the LOC message in red letters and won't let me ignite the burners. Baking/Timer/Clock still work, just not stove burners. I've tried holding the lockout button and it removes the symbol of the lock, but doesn't remove the LOC message and it's still not working.

From a google search the following is copied:

LOC is a control panel lock not a door lock, see below.

The Control Lock shuts down the control panel pads to prevent
unintended use of the ovens.
When the control is locked, only the CLOCK, TIMER SET and
TIMER OFF pads will function.
The Control Lock is preset unlocked, but can be locked.
To Lock/Unlock Control: Before locking, make sure the ovens,
Timer and Timed Cooking are off. Press and hold START/ENTER
until a single tone sounds and "Loc," a picture of a lock and
"START?" will appear on the oven display, about 5 seconds.
Repeat to unlock and remove "Loc" from display.

If the above does not work have you tried removing power from the uit for a few minutes to see if it will reset.

SOURCE: digital oven will not turn on, I press bake/broil it reads ''Loc''

Look on the control panel for an icon that looks like a padlock near one of the buttons. Hold that button down until it beeps and that should unlock the panel.

Whirlpool GR478LXPQ1 stove and oven top doesn't work?

To be honest, it sounds like you purchased a secondhand, faulty appliance. Although it might be loose connections due to the move, the most likely issue would be the main board and due to the price of them, that is often a good enough reason to buy a new stove.

Error messages are normally searchable, but not that one. Take it back or call out a Whirlpool Service engineer to diagnose, fix and set it up. It is a sorry tale and not an easy one to fix.

Loc code on whirlpool stove

Try shutting off the breaker for 5 minutes and turning it back on. Sometimes you have to press the clock, and the up and down arrows all at the same time after doing this.

My oven/stovetop isn't turning on, and it says "LOC" on the screen. Its like the stove won't ignite. What should I do?

To lock/unlock the controls: Turn all surface burners off.

Touch and hold the GAS/CONTROL LOCKOUT pad for 3 seconds until the display shows LOC.

To unlock the control, touch and hold the GAS/CONTROL LOCKOUT pad for 3 seconds until LOC disappears from the display.

The oven is stuck at LOC.

The locking motor has gone bad on the range. Common for this to happen after self clean. You will have to replace or have the lock assembly replaced for the stove to work again

"loc" display

This just happened to me. I have whirlpool double oven accubake. The display went blank and i had to turn the breaker off. I left it off for several hours. When I turned the breaker back on my oven display read "Loc" in big letters to the right of the time. I held the start button down for 5 secs. The display went away and the oven started to work as if nothing had happened. I hope that is stays that way.
