M209x when displaying a document the white background is displaying in yellow

Replace the Yellow ink

Sir/Mam, have you replaced the yellow image unit ? Not the yellow toner cartridge. There two seperate units. Also there are on each image unit blue/white nubs that you can pull out and push back in to clean interal image unit parts do that you do not have to pull the image units out just ensure that when done cleaning they are pushed all the way back in. Once the image units are not toner cartridge and there are four of them located below each toner cartridge .

Make a Black Background White

The desktop appearance of a computer equipped with Microsoft Windows XP, whether PC or laptop, can be customized easily.
Users can change background color, background image, frame color, font size and the arrangement of desktop icons.
Five easy steps how to change the desktop background color from black to white.
Changing Background Color
Right-click the mouse on any open portion (i.e., non-icon) of the desktop, which will open a menu. Select "Properties" at the menu's bottom, which will open the "Display Properties" application.
Click the "Desktop" tab at the application's top.

Click the down arrow next to the "Color" button, and select the white color.


Click the "Apply" button, then click "OK" to close the application.

Perform the head cleaner mantenace menu and feed roller cleaner then make a test print.

You might be scanning and copying in full color even for regular documents. When you do this, it treats the document as a photograph or color document and therefore, the background, even if white, is scanned in as a bit yellow

If the background color is light (yellow for example) you can probably play with the contrast and density settings to make it better, but otherwise you can't, unfortunately.

Check your MS Windows System colors

Most likely that is the cause of the problem.

If you see a grey and white 'checkerboard' background, you're seeing the background designed to show you the transparency of items in your document.

Select: Edit > Preferences > Page Display then un-check: "Show Transparency Grid."
