i had the exact same issue. it's a broken latch mechanism, and is a fairly common problem.

i bought the part at my local repair shop for $45 (you can find it online for $30). it literally took 10 minutes.

you need to right size bit to remove the 10 bolts on the interior of the door. once you have those out, the latch slides right out of the top. there are 2 electrical connectors (careful - you can get a shock. disconnect the 2 connectors, reconnect to the new one, and zip your 10 bolts back in. super easy

This happened to me. After replacing the board for $100, still happened. I messed with it myself... Reach under the counter to where the "catch" is. Mine is white plastic. Mine had a bit of movement side to side (like 3mm). Try sliding it to one side or the other and see if the door will shut. I spent $100 I did not need to spend and hand washed dishes for 6 days waiting for the part! Good luck

Soap dispenser door opens, but soap is still stuck in the dispenser at the end of the washing cycle. Tried to make sure nothing blocks the door; dishwasher powder is new. what else can I try?

Dishwasher seems to run but does not wash dishes. Recently had to take the door apart to fix the latch that was stuck in the closed position, causing the door not to lock.

I've got the same problem and will watch for your answer. My landlord says "its fine." However, my dishes are not clean.

sometimes the mounting screws will work loose and not allow the door to shut.Open the door now look where the top of the door hits and see if the two mounting screws have worked loose and hanging down re-tighten
