Start up took much time

While starting up it took much time to open the screen. How do i solve it

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

What do you mean that it took much time to open the screen? Please clarify. Do you mean to load windows? Or did you mean to see the Dell Logo at the start? Thank you.

If you want the computer to start faster, you need to reduce the number of programs and services that the computer automatically runs at startup. Or possibly increase the amount of RAM installed (if possible). If your hard disk is severely fragmented, defragging can help speed things up a little bit. If the system is paging excessively (or worse yet, constantly adjusting the size of the paging file(s)), you can reconfigure these options. If your system has enough memory, you can change settings so the executive never gets paged out (must have at least 512MB of RAM to do this). There are literally dozens of ways to speed up a system, but you need to know where the system is faltering the most. On most systems it has to do with automatically loaded services and startup programs. Uninstall any software that you never use. Set little used services to Delayed Start. Use the msconfig tool to stop programs that you don't use from starting up on boot.

I have a Windows 7 dell vostro 3500. And Windows won't turn on. It keeps on starting again every time on its own. It didn't go pass the "start Window Normal"....

1st time-As soon as you start computer keep mashing as fast as you can (not hold down but constant presses) till you get to advanced boot option screen. There are options to choose from.
You will have to use your arrow keys and enter key (no mouse)
First use the safe mode option.(this is in case you are fighting a virus)
turn off repeat the start with f8 key presses till it gives you the advanced boot option screen again. choose last good configuration option. If it lets you it will take a bit of time to restore do not interrupt it while it is fixing its self.
Here is a picture of what the option screen should look like.

My opening screen has changed. The Start box is all the way up on the top instead of in the lower left. The whole screen is different

Click at any place on the start bar, don't release the left click and drag it to bottom. This will solve your problem.

2005 relay turn key some time start ,some time no start

I don't know if this will solve your problem but my daughter-in-laws 2005 Relay was having a similar problem with starting, sometimes it would start, other times you would have to keep cranking the vehicle. I went under the front hood and opened up the fuse and relay box on the left side of the engine. There is a ignition relay in which I took out and cleaned the contact pins with Scotch-brite because the pins looked like there was some build up on them. It has been over a week now and the vehicle has started every time on the first try.

1995 Isuzu rodeo will not start battery is in good condition

I had the same problem as you. Thought it was starter or battery,,,it was neither. I kid you not, I figure this out for myself and problem solved. I did not have the tailgate window locked and it took at least 30 attempts to start. When I locked the tailgate opener located on the far left of dashboard, never a problem,,,, I pulled out the operator's manual/remote control/vehicle security system manual and to my surprise it confirmed. Here is the exact quote from manual "While armed, the system is triggered when a door or the tailgate window is opened. When triggered, the vehicle's horn sounds, and the exterior and interior lights flash. PERHAPS, MORE IMPORTANTLY, THE VEHICLE'S STARTER IS DISABLED AT THE SAME TIME, PREVENTING ENGINE START!!!" Please let me know if this solves your problem or you already went there..

Theres no display on screen

by shutting the screen you have activated power saving followed by hibernation.when you lift screen and press power a screen appears telling you what programs are currently running and your icon to enter.by removing battery you have (computer term) illegally shut down, possibly with programs running, which incidently is a good way to loose sys32. which would require a repair or install.
Not ur case as of yet.restart ur pc and press f 8 about 4 seconds later .black screen with options appear ,navigate to start windows with last good configuration.windows will restart with last good settings .
if you choose to go asleep whilst a program is running you can configure windows not to go into power save mode or hibernation, turn off hd,turn off pc etc .
if you right click mouse in any space on desktop, select properties,screensaver,power.....you can change settings there to suit.
