Presser foot trying to fix my presserfoot lever it seems to go down but not back upwhat can i do to fix it

You lever doesn't work because the presser foot Bar is seized from lack of use.Open the side of the machine to access the bar. Put a mixture of water and ammonia ( about 80%water 20% ammonia) on the top and bottom of the bar. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes then try to move the presser foot Up by lifting the foot with a screw driver. Do not pry so hard you break something. It should get progressively easy the more times you do this. Put some sewing machine oil on the top and bottom of the shaft and it should be good to go.

more than likeley the set screw is loose on the presser bar shaft ,remove the endcover and take a look should be simple

There might be something stuck in there that is stopping it from pushing all the way down.

Make sure that your needle is in the highest position, turn your handwheel towards you, not away from or else you will mess up the timing

I just looked at your free manual on the www.singerco.com site and it looks a little complicated to do, Do you think that maybe downloading the manual and enlarging the diagrams on pages 10 & 11 may help you? If not, call Singer customer service, at 1-800-4singer and ask for some advice. Good luck
