My ryobi 2200 generator rebs hi and low over and over it works but i feel it might turn off

Could be the switch (see inverter module), the stepper motor (engine), or the inverter module.

The power demand of a refrigerator is too high for your 2200. You need something that can provide at least twice the power output of your 2200.

Check for a weak or missing spring on the throttle linkeage.

The engine is not getting enough fuel. Try choking it some and see if this helps. If it does, then check the fuel filters. If you still have problems, then you will need to clean the carburetor or open the main jet if it is adjustable. Modern small engines are se to run as lean as possible to keep pollution down. This is much worse on small engines shipped to California. If the carburetor and filter are clean and you still have the problem, take the carburetor to lawn mower shop and see if they will replace the main jet with one a little larger.

That sounds like dirty/clogged idle circuit passages in the carbureator. A little spary carb cleaner might work, but you might have to rebuild it.

If it has not been run in a while, the generator field may be weak and may need ot be flashed. Also make sure the motor is running up to full RPM.

Probably got some dirt cought in the carb or lines.
