No. But a faulty screen will provide no picture even if all of the respective boards are good. Get another opinion and U might check on ebay to see if someone is parting one out for parts and you can get a screen for a lot less money.
if the system is running and hard drive is operating is is possible that the Video Card that is part of the Motherboard is Bad. THis is because both the laptop screen and external monitor are black.
You can take the laptop to a local shop but often the cost of repair is greater than the cost to replace.
if a shop will evaluate for free go there.
best case you have a bad stick of ram, worst case processor or Video section of mother board is bad. many other possibilities could be the cause.
rcpips, You may need to replace one or possibly 5 -8 aluminum can "electrolytic filter capacitors" on the "switch-mode-power-supply/CCFL inverter board. If, as you say "works for 5 or 6 seconds" then that means that fuse is good. Another thing you will need to inspect SMPS board for is "cold" "frosty looking" solder joints where the components (surface mount or through hole) are soldered to the copper circuit traces. May need large magnifying glass or low power inspection microscope to locate them. Resolder any that look bad or loose. Some solder joints have thinner than "hair" thermal fractures that can also cause YOUR TYPE OF SYMPTOM!! PARTS: digikey. mouser. newark. and possibly Radio Shack. If buying filter capacitors, make sure they are rated 105 deg C only!! NOT 85 deg C!!! If caps need to be replaced (swollen, leaky) be sure to tell us the brand name you find installed on your unit! CAPXON, ELITE, JUN-FU are just 3 that you don"t want to find in your unit. BAD news if you do!! If DIY suits you, remember to document with "close-up" digital stills your unit tear-down, so you can reassemble unit without any "extra" parts laying on kitchen table!! Filter capacitors are polarized. You put them in + to +, - to -!!! if you put them in backwards they go BOOOOMMM!!! Hope this helps a little. lmistyrel on aim or 12fixlouie at fixya.
No, if ANY of the fuses were bad, the television wouldn't operate at all. I suspect that a technician will have to possibly make adjustments to the Y-sus and Z-sus panels to see if that helps. Possibly the y-sus panel is going bad or the plasma panel is going bad itself. Either way you need to have a technician look at the TV for you. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thank you.
Not that I know of because most drum units used in today's printers are not designed to be dis-assembled and individual parts replaced. It could possibly be done, but it might be hard to find the individual parts and in my experience even if you could find the part it may cost almost as much as the whole drum unit.
The convergence ICs are usually the problem there are two of them STK392-040 which need to be replaced and possibly the 4 150 ohm 1watt and a couple of the 3.9 ohm 2 watt resistors this is a fairly easy repair if you can solder. You can get replacement parts at the following link and they provide free instalation instructions with pictures so you can do the repair yourself.
here's the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
You wont get a replacement screen on this model as its suppliers dont make a replacement screen. But I do know someone that has got one of these as parts for sale.
01280701160 is the number he is in the uk.
If you guys do not have hand soldering skills or know how to use a multimeter, I would suggest to replace the whole assembly. If you know how to solder you can just replace 2 ICs that are mounted on the big black heatsinks and possibly 1 or more resistors. Click here to find the entire assembly for your TV.
The link provided is for parts for the AV-56WP74 model ONLY. For the 65 inches; you should contact the vendor and provide the correct model number. Good Luck.
