How do I remove the front panel of a top loading maytag washer?
Hi, There are two spring clips located in the gap between the top and front panel. They are the edges.
If the pump and hoses aare ok, fill the washer with water and look up toward the center of the tub abd transmission area. It migth have a seal going bad.
I hope this helps.

Post to cmarcum,
You can disconnect the right lid lock and leave disconnected, I have had mine removed for the past six months. I feel you have a problem with the left lid lock. You should post your issue as a new problem not a solution to this problem post. I will place suggestions for trouble shooting and working toward a fix for your OD error code on your new problem post. I too have been confused a bit by the new forum format

Raise the top of the machine. Insert a flat blade putty knife approximately 2.5” from the left and right sides of the washer top, depress the spring tabs securing machine top to the washer base. See page 33 of the SM for putty knife insertion point.
5/16 nut driver or 5/16 ¼ socket on an extension to remove front panel see page 41 of the SM
