If you take the camera and the card to a sales outlet the assistants are usually helpful
Inserting an SD Memory Card(Optional)
All images and video clips taken by the camera can be stored in an SD (Secure
Digital) Memory Card. Even if the camera's power is OFF, the images saved in the
SD Memory Card are not erased. An SD Memory Card can be repeatedly read and
written. You may also expand the memory capacity up to 512MB so that you can
store additional images and video clips.
1. Make sure the camera is off.
2. Slide the battery/SD Memory Card cover in the direction of the [OPEN] arrow.
3. Insert an SD Memory Card :
The front side of the memory card (printed
arrow) should face towards the front side
of the camera.
If the card cannot be inserted, check the
orientation.
4. Close the battery/SD Memory Card cover.
To remove the SD Memory Card, make sure
the camera is off. Open the battery/SD Memory Card card cover. Press
lightly on the edge of the memory card and it will eject.
Note:
If the camera is powered-on without the card, the "NO CARD" message appears on
the LCD monitor.
To prevent valuable data from being accidentally
erased from an SD Memory Card you can slide the
write-protected tab (on the side of the SD Memory
Card) to "LOCK".
To save, edit or erase data on an SD Memory Card,
you must unlock the card.
MultiMedia Card (MMC) can not be used.
You need to format an SD Memory Card before using it in this camera
I'm assuming you are trying to use an SD card in your camera and not the internal memory. I suggest you format the memory card if you are sure there is nothing on the card. Formatting the memory card deletes everything on the card and sets it up with a file system that your camera recognizes. Follow these steps to format your memory card using your camera.
1. Turn camera off
2. Insert memory card
3. Turn camera on
4. When the memory card is inserted in the camera,
the [Format card] option appears in the setup
menu
5. Choose Format to format the entire card. Don't choose Quick Format
6. Wait until your card is formatted
After formatting your memory card, try turning your camera off and on and you should now be able to take pictures to your memory card.
P.S. If you remove your memory card you can choose Format Memory from the setup menu to format the camera's built-in internal memory

Confirm first whether the memory card is still good or bad by using a card reader, put the camera memory card into the card reader then connect it to your system, see whether the system will read your card, if the system doesn't read it, it simply implies that memory card is bad and you need to replace it with a genuine memory card, but if it works it implies that the card slot on the camera is bad. so, your either need to service your camera or you replace the memory card. Thanks
