first off you have a choice you can either run virus scan to attempt to remove it from with in safe mode
format the HDD assuming it isn't your primary OS drive
or reinstall the whole OS
we will start with safe mode
so whilst the pc is still in start up (POST) rapidly press f8
this will take you through to a start up menu choose safe mode at the top.
once booted up log in and run antivirus software such as bitdefender/avast/avg and others. I recommend avast (personal preference) if nothing Is found look for more in depth for a better anti virus program.
formatting will technically remove a virus from a HDD but if you format your OS your screwed and it is unlikely that a virus will install itself to your second drive so ignore this. (don't even attempt to format)
this is a last resort if you cant solve it.
borrow or create a live cd/dvd/usb OS boot the computer into this and then install the OS if you are using windows, use your recovery disk that no one makes and if you didn't make one contact your laptop/PC manufacturer as they should have one for a fee
Hi, If you are tucking about external HDD, ya me be not supported because if your PC old version and you USB 2.0 low version then this types of problem show. Because new HDD advance version supported. If this problem, then i suggest you up to date bios version and connect new USB deice. If your PC latest version or new then may be virus problem so clean all virus in PC. I am not sure one time format windows and all driver proper install i hope solved your problem. If not solved then contact HDD services center proper Gide with you. Thanks..
If you don't have your manual, get it from Acer website. Just run the recovery program and follow the instructions. This is just like formatting, it will overwrite the HDD. For you this should be fine, and even formatting is useless. So Follow the Manual.
I have read problems about erasing, if you don't make a extra
partition the recovery system will flag out. Seen the second disk error
out and not finish, now you have no laptop.
Read about people who needed a new HDD and put it in and couldn't get the recovery disk's to work.
Like I said, formatting is useless anyway, the only true way to clean a hard drive HDD is to use programs that zero write the drive. But either way, if you format or erase, you can risk not getting the recovery to work.
If you are worried about malware (virus, trojan) Get Bitdefender or Avira, they have a free virus program. Then if you like it, when you can but it.
These are in the top 5 for today's Anti-Virus. What ever you do don't use AVG.
if your laptop have virus, try install anti virus like avast , then, use the anti virus to scan your hard disc. after scanning the anti virus fish out the virus on your system, then, you can now delete the virus on your system. or
you, copy your information on another system and format your hard disc.after formatting the virus on your system will e wipe of
once you Re-format any memory device or your camcorder in your case, once its Re-formatted you WILL NOT got any data back....but in some models you can
so you better re-format your camcorder.. make sure your pc has NO viruses/worms/cookies/Trojans ect..because if u have an infected pc then the viruses will spread like THE PLAUGE thus transmitting the virus to ANY device (internal or external)

It may cause of some reasons. But pay attention to these notes:
1.Maybe Your Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is full,So Remove some useless staffs from your hard drive.Or if you want them I suggest you to buy an External HDD and Transfer them on External HDD and keep them safe.
2.Many Computers runs slow because of viruses, so I suggest you STRONGLY to Install a powerful Anti virus, Update it and scan your computer.(The activation of viruses, trojans and worms is cause of this problem)
3.Use some Optimize software to fix and repair your Registery, HDD and etc... These software are different and you can provide them easily.like Symbian Products
4.If your Hardwares are old, you should upgrade them.Consult about this subject with Experts.
5.Totally, I suggest you to get a back up from your Files and folders, and Format your HDD and re-install your OS, Don't forget ANTI-VIRUSE
Good luck
My advice to you is to format your hard drive and start from scratch. Takes too much time to identify and remove that many viruses. Much quicker to format the HDD.
Use a good antivirus program like avast or similar.
