The error indicates a black ink stick was jammed. You have to clear the ISC (ink stick count) error. Turn off the printer. Turn on the printer. As soon as you see XEROX start moving across the display hold down the back and help buttons until you see "beginning service mode" on the display. Release the buttons, it will now come up in the service mode. Scroll down to the function menu, hit ok, scoll to clear isc faault, hit ok. Hit the back button to get back to the first menu then exit diagnostics, hit ok when it asks if you want to restart in customer mode.
If you ever buy any Xerox ink and you get a cracked ink stick call Xerox Paper jam canon mx850. I cant find the paper. - cb_transparent_l.gifspace.gifspace.gifspace.gifspace.gifspace.gifspace.gifspace.gif800-835-6100cb_transparent_r.gif and they will replace it free of charge. Otherwise you risk this problem.
Hope this helps.

Canon mx850 Error code 6A00

Hello thank you for using FixYa.

The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code.As a Canon technology,I usually find the code almost 90% of the time it is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move.Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods etc.
I have found all those things in a purge unit. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement.A
Canon Pixma MX850 Printer would still be under Canon warranty, get it into a shop and save yourself the hassel.
Incidentally, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model & its always a paper path error or purge unit
I forget myself so here goes, the purge unit, called a spittoon assembly, where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing. That is why you will find the print head assembly parked on top of it. It also has a an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow

When I use my Brother MFC-465 CN printer to print 4X6 photos with the photo paper bypass tray in proper position, it jams sending the photo paper through. Printer is set to 4x6; software set to photo as...

Hi there!
The compatibility of the paper may affect the issue that you are having. I have a brother printer also and prints on 4x6 size what i can suggest is to try turn the photo paper upside down, so facing the tray, 2 sheets at the bottom should have the glossy side up. and the sheet where you need to print the photo should be facing down. So when the paper roller grabbed the photo paper at the top it will smoothly pass thru,
Hope this helps! Vikroks

How to set for 4x6 photos

Nothing special to set for 4x6, you lust slide the paper guide over to the 4x6 paper and stand the paper up in the paper slot in the back. You have to choose 4x6 print in your printing software window in printing preferences.

Problems printing 4x6 with MP600

You're most welcome. Remember to check all of your paper, I had it curl a bit from sitting too long and I had a very bad paper jam from that. Good luck!

Pixma ip 3000

I think that if you use the bottom tray to load the paper, you can use the different sizes of paper to print. Make sure to click the second button inside the lid that shows the direction the paper is fed into the printer. hope this helps!

SAYS PRINTER IS JAMMED; YET NOTHING IS IN THERE.

Normally turning it off and back on resets the error code. However, lots of times they may be a small piece of a paper stuck causing the error code. Turn the printer off for about 10 minutes, see if that clears it and check one more time for some paper jam.
