Weed eater starts and ildes on choke but dies when accerated. Have tried cleaning carb but still nothing works.
It sems to me like your engine chokes itself on a too rich fuel mix, a clogged air filter may cause this condition. Of course there is always the possibility of a needed carburetor adjustment but I would definitely check the air filter first if this machine used to work fine.
So how did it work out for you, OP? If you tried the suggestion and it didn't help, please tell. Without feedback I cannot help you further.
Did you disengage the choke after it started on choke initially? If you don't switch to half choke or no choke (Run position) shortly after you got it started on choke you will experience just that, the engine dies when throttled because of a too rich fuel mix. Those small engines can be a little tricky to get used to.
