When I start my 55 rancher husqavarna it has no power like boggs down

  1. Check the IPL for your saw to see if any special tools are needed. Poulan (Craftsman, Jonsered, Husky) clutch removal tool part number 530031112 if needed, is under $5 from many sources (look at the visible area between the weights if 2 small round sockets are visible you need the tool).
  2. There are metal piston stops available, when square (almost never) with the piston top these work well, if not square they have been known to punch through the piston.
• I suggest a length of nylon rope (nothing left behind) be used instead of the piston stop (retain 6" ± so you can remove it).
• Make certain the piston is near the top of the cylinder before feeding the cord or it can fall through the exhaust port and damage the piston as it rises.
  1. Everyone I have ever removed had a left handed thread (tighten it to loosen it).

No spark could be a number of issues. Break in ignition wire, faulty switch, incorrect timing space, faulty ignition module, bad sparkplug or the spark plug lead.
The running problem is most likely a fueling issue, check the fuel lines, filter and make sure fuel is getting into the cylinder.

Make sure your fuel is good, fresh and properly mixed. Airfilter clean and correct resistor plug.

No compression release on older rancher 55
I have a very low time Rancher 55. It is hard to start when it sits for over two months. It is easy to pull with the spark plug out. The solution for me was to dribble 2-cycle oil into the cylinder and pull it about 7 times with the plug out. When I put the plug back in, it starts easily

50to 60 compression on a husqavarna 455 rancher chain saw. Ring job and how hard?
455 is an X Torq engine, this means it runs very cool on the inlet side of the piston, they are quite prone to gumming the ring in if they have been used on a heavy two stroke mix, due to the designit is a full machine strip down to get to the piston, skilled man 3 hours to strip and rebuild.

You need to check that this machine is mechanically sound, remove the muffler and check the condition of the piston skirt through the open exhaust port, any signs of scuffing ( seizure ), and the cylinder will need to be removed to assess the damage

I have a Rancher 55 18" with a new chain. Started
First thing you need to check is the cylinder.Take the spark plug ouy.use a flashlight and look down the hole towards the muffler side.If its scratched up afraid the motor is shot and will need to be rebuilt.If its not scratched up let me know on here.Then I will give you more things to check.

Looking for proper h/l jet settings on my husqvarna 266 se chainsaw..or a manual i can download ...i found one...but it was in swedish
rule of thumb is 1 torn out from closed will get you started. then run at high speed and richen the H screw till you hear it just starting to bogg down every few seconds. Then let off the throttle and adjust the L screw till it runs smooth the richen it a quarter turn. Thats the old fashioned way I have been using for 40 years
