Hi, I have a Compaq Presario in the 5000 series and every time I try to turn it's power light goes solid green and the sounds it makes sound like it's going through the motions, but nothing happens. When I would turn it on before, the light would flash red before going to green. I've tested the monitor and switched it around a few times just to make sure, but nothing seems to be working. It's an old cpu, and we've since replaced it (this started happening 3 or 4 years ago) but I'd love to get it up and running again just to see if I could get some old files and programs off of there. It's a Model 5WV271, it ran WindowsME when it was working. Is there any magic words I can say to get this running again?

The machine is getting the power but no display.This seems a RAM or motherboard issue.
1.Press and release NUM Lock after turning on and if it is responding this is a RAM issue and if not then the mainboard issue but before all refix the RAM once.
