The device you are quoting as being seen by the device manager is the Hard Drive, not the DVD Drive.

Slimtype DVD a Ds8a1p Ata Device Driver NOT FOUND IN MY NOTE BOOK AND NOT HAVING DRIVER IN CD

Go into your BIOS and see if the drive is recognized in there. If its not, then you'll need to turn off the laptop. Take out the drive from the system and then put the drive back into the system. Now go back into the BIOS and see if its recognized in there. If it is still not recognized then the drive is bad and would need to be replaced.

If the drive is recognized then go into windows into the device manager and see if the drive is there. If its not recognized properly then that means you might either have spyware or a virus on the computer. You can also try replacing the drive as well to make sure its not a drive problem.

Dvd/cd drive isnt recognized

Turn off the laptop completely. There is one screw on the bottom holding it in place. Take out the screw and then take out the drive from the laptop. Put it back into place and make sure it reseats snug into the slot. Press F10 to get into the BIOS and see if its recognized in there, if it is then you know that it was the drive not getting seated properly. If its still not getting recognized then try another knowng good working drive in there.

Also make sure you reset the defaults in the BIOS. if the new drive isnt seen in there then it could be a bad controller on the motherboard and if the machine is under warranty, get the motherboard replaced.

GMA 4082n device driver not working properly code 39

First go into Setup (usually F1,F2 or del) at start-up. See if your drives show up there. With Windows running, right click My Computer, left click Properties, left click Hardware, left click Device Manager, left click DVD/CD-ROM drives. Also check IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. Do the drives show up there? If they do right click on drive and left click Update Driver. If they are not there go back to System Properties and left click on Add Hardware Wizard. This will search for devices. It may ask you to insert Windows CD which of course you can not do because the drives don't work. Try a different drive. When you cleaned out your computer did you delete or uninstall Office? That may be what caused this problem. None of this may work but it is a starting point.

How do I install a SATA DVD drive in my 655A V1.0?

Hi stewwiles, If your bios does not see & list the drive neither will windows hardware manager/ device manager. Check your manual. Enter your bios. The DVD drive should be listed in the same menu as your hard disk drive. Than go to the title "Boot" in your bios & make sure your DVD is listed in the boot order. (List of normal boot order):
1st boot device= Floppy drive
2nd boot device= DVD drive (model no#)
3rd boot device= Primary hard disk drive (model no#)

Make sure your DVD's jumper setting is set to "Master".

Good luck!
