SOURCE: Bose Control Pod won't work

Try changing the plug on the control pod, those plugs are fairly weak and prone to breakage. Does there appear to be any strain at all on the plug itself? if so then that is where I would start. If you have a series 2 then I can help you, or if you can find out if the 2 control pods are the same, that would be fine too, but I have a series 2 system companion 3 and if needed I will cut my cable to trace the wiring and then replace your plug for you. my cost for this would be $40, that includes return shipping with priority mail.

SOURCE: Loud hum when Bose Companion 3 Series II speakers are turned on.

I had the same problem for many months. I asked a sound & video professional and he suggested I move the subwoofer away from any power source. I had the subwoofer next to my UPS. Once separated and moved all wiring away from the power supply (about 12") the low bass hum was practically gone.

SOURCE: Control Pod for Bose Companion 5 speaker system

I had the same problem right out of the gate, the volume dial on my control pod for my Companion 5 wasn't working, however, the touch pad and LED worked. I called Bose customer service and was instructed to:

First, unplug the power directly at the back of the woofer while the unit was on;

Next, I was instructed to unplug the control pod, visually inspect for any damage/defect;

Finally, re-seat the control pod on the back of the woofer and then lastly plug the power cable back into the woofer.

It worked like a charm. I hope this is helpful!

Can i connect a tv to a bose series ii system

Yes you can, only thing is you may have to buy a 3.5mm phono jack to 2RCA converter.Because all standard TV audio out is RCA sockets unless you are planning on connecting the headphone out of the TV. This has an advantage, you can control the volume using the TV remote, but the disadvantage is if you turn up the TV volume very high the Bose may distort due to input overload .

Bose Companion 3 series II speakers aren't producing sound (imac)

from what I've read, the imac has a 3.5mm (.138) jack while the Bose jack is 1/8 (.125). very small difference in size (.013), but enough to cause problems.

Bose Companion 3 Series II not working (Mac)

The speakers seem to be muted by default - you'll see that the LED is yellow/amber. Tap the control pod - the LED will turn green and speakers will work. I felt like such an idiot after I spent almost an hour trying to figure this out. (This feature should be more prominent in the manual.)
