A completed discharged battery yields a solid red light. A blinking red light means the battery has not yet received enough of a charge to operate the phone. You need to leave it on the charger longer, perhaps a half hour or more, for this blinking to cease.

My uniden has a red light that flashes when i have voicemail i havent picked up

To reset the indicator(Red light flashing on handset), press and hold the find handset key for 5 seconds or until the light flashing stops(10 sec).
